愛與死-VII【愛之禮讚】
從律師事務所的狀紙到教堂的合唱譜，從精神療養院的樂隊指揮到塑造「大英風格」國際形象的關鍵人物，艾爾加在富涵音樂氣息的環境中成長，藝術潛質渾然天成。
相對於自學多項樂器的早慧，艾爾加的作曲才能便顯得大器晚成，身為英國音樂「文藝復興」的代表，作品濃郁的英國民間情風深受樂迷喜愛。其中膾炙人口的《愛之禮讚》鋼琴小品，實為艾爾加成名前與未婚妻互表心愫之作。優美動聽的旋律，深情眷詠。

Love and Death-VII【“Salut d'amour”】
Switching from legal papers to choral sheet music sung in churches, he was a conductor of the attendants' band at a lunatic asylum before he became the critical figure in creating the international image of the “Style of Great Britain”. E. Elgar was raised surrounded by music, an environment that fulfilled his artistic potential.
Compared with his remarkable talent of teaching himself to play various instruments at an early age, Elgar’s composing skills seemed to have matured at a relatively later stage of his life. His works, which are rich with imageries of British local life, are widely loved by the audience, and these pieces also represent the “Renaissance of British music”. “Salut d’amour”, a very popular piano piece, is actually a love letter from the pre-famous Elgar to his fiancée, and its elegant and sentimental melody is sure to leave an impression.
Violin virtuoso Cho-Liang Lin displays his extraordinary technique with the controlled skills of a master. With graceful and warm melodies, his delicate performance will lead you through numerous masterpieces, including “Salut d’amour” and Mozart’s “Haffner”.

來自臺灣的美籍小提琴家林昭亮，流利的演奏技巧及高超華麗的音樂才能在國際享有崇高的美譽，除了與現今主要的管弦樂團合作演出，他的琴聲也時常出現於獨奏會和室內樂音樂會中。2000年音樂美國雜誌(Musical America)指名林昭亮為年度器樂演奏家典範，身為La Jolla音樂節的音樂總監，洛杉磯時報報導林昭亮「把另一振奮人心和挑撥刺激的新感官系列帶了進來」。林昭亮曾為新力古典、Decca、Ondine、Naxos和BIS製作錄音，音樂專輯也曾獲得兩屆葛萊美獎提名。自1991年起他成為茱莉亞音樂學院的專任教授，最近也加入Rice University的Shepherd School of Music擔任教職。
